Sigma-tau HealthScience's Glycine Propionyl-L-Carnitine Hydrochloride (GlycoCarn®) and Acetyl-L-Carnitine Arginate Dihydrochloride (ArginoCarn®) are both USP Verified Dietary Supplement Ingredients!

Program Overview: USP Verifies Active and Inactive Ingredients Used in the Manufacture of Dietary Supplements, Including:

  • Fine chemicals
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Amino acids
  • Botanical extracts
  • Nonbotanicals

USP Verification of both GlycoCarn® and ArginoCarn®

  • GlycoCarn®'s and ArginoCarn®'s participation in USP's Dietary Supplement Ingredient Verification Program is entirely voluntary.
  • Although the program is open to manufacturers of ingredients marketed for use in the dietary supplement industry worldwide, only a very few companies have recognized the importance for allocating the economic and professional resources necessary to undergo the verification process
  • USP has awarded GlycoCarn® and ArginoCarn® (as it does all such USP verified ingredients in good standing) use of the USP Verified Dietary Supplement Ingredient Mark and has issued Sigma-tau HealthScience a verification certificate that demonstrates that these ingredients meet USP's rigorous program requirements.
  • GlycoCarn® and ArginoCarn® have been enrolled in the USP Dietary ingredient Verification Program since 2005.

What Does the USP Dietary Supplement Ingredient Mark Mean to Customers?

  • Manufacturers of ingredients that pass USP Verification are permitted to display the USP Verified Dietary Supplement Ingredient Mark (shown above) on containers of verified products.
  • Manufacturers of ingredients that pass USP Verification have undergone a rigorously intense but fairly administered on-site inspection of their manufacturing and Quality Assurance capabilities.
  • Manufacturers of ingredients that pass USP Verification underwent thorough document review and testing of randomly selected lots.
  • Manufacturers of ingredients that pass USP Verification must continue to undergo such inspections periodically in order to retain verification.

When the manufacturers of dietary supplement finished products see this distinctive mark on the containers of ingredients they buy, they can feel confident that:

  1. The ingredients are consistent in quality from batch to batch.
  2. The ingredients meet label or certificate of analysis claims for identity, strength, purity, and quality.
  3. The ingredients are prepared in accordance with accepted manufacturing processes.
  4. The ingredients meet requirements for acceptable limits of contamination.
